Leonid Berov holds a PhD in Cognitive Science for his research on the computational generation of fictional narratives, in an interdisciplinary project that bridged the AI discipline of computational creativity with the humanities discipline of narrative theory. His scientific work has been awarded as the best Lower Saxonian AI thesis in 2021, as well as the German AI newcomer award 2019. Between 2016 and 2019 he was Alexander-von-Humboldt PhD fellow under Prof. Mark Turner.
Driven by his interest in narrative structures, sharing creative responsibility and storytelling on the stage he also performs improvised long form theatre as part of Berlin based improv team Mostly Sorry.
