The climate crisis increasingly threatens life on this planet. Most of the time, digital infrastructures reinforce social and environmental issues. For example, digital infrastructures have high carbon-emissions, enable extractivism, or can become misleading climate solutions that delay climate action. In this panel, we want to debunk current misleading narratives. We want to ask: How can we change the pathway we are heading to by centering justice and care in digital infrastructures?

We will illustrate projects and movements at the intersection of digital rights and climate justice that center different forms of knowledge(s). And we will show that building just and sustainable infrastructures is central to ensuring equitable climate action for all.
